The Kuro Series by Kasumi (meaning "black" in Japanese) is the epitome of authentic Japanese knifemaking. It is designed exclusively for chefs and culinary enthusiasts who master traditional cutting techniques and seek the perfect balance between a robust, heavy blade and a lightweight handle.

The blade is hand-forged in Japan using traditional methods. It features a hard core of Molybdenum Vanadium steel (AUS8 - 58HRC), layered with 32 sheets of Damascus steel (SUS410), creating an extremely sharp edge (up to 15°) with exceptional resistance to wear and oxidation. The striking, textured hammered "Tsuchime" finish delivers a unique aesthetic and acts as a non-stick shield during slicing.

The traditional octagonal handle is made from wood with an epoxy coating. This classic Japanese-style handle is ergonomic, waterproof, and fire-resistant.
