Nakiri knife is the vegetable knife in Japanese cuisine. In addition to its characteristic vertical tip, the straight blade rests on the whole cutting surface, with only one movement. The length of the blade is ideal for chopping even on the kitchen counter, where space is usually narrower, while its light weight makes it comfortable for continuous use.

Extremely sharp blade The blade of Tangan Ryu  is made of 67 layers of damascus steel and VG10 steel core. It is thin and sharpened to such an extent that any of your cuts will look as easy as cutting butter. The damascus blade at the bottom has a beautiful matte finish which is created by dipping the blade after forging in engraving fluid. Due to this process, the contrasts of the layers on the steel are more visible. While at the top, the mirror finish which then becomes hammered, gives a really impressive look.

Octagonal handle with unique hold The first part of the knife you come in contact with, is its handle. The handle of Tangan Ryu is made of micarta, synthetic material made of cotton in combination with resin, which has then has been hardened under high pressure. The flat surfaces on both sides of the handle will ensure control and grip and help cutting in the right direction.
